Fabulous Fall Wedding

I just got home a little while ago from coordinating an amazing wedding and I will come right out and say that this post will be a bit lengthy because to leave any details out would be a terrible disservice. The weather today was a perfect, beautiful Fall day in New England and the clear sidewalls of the tent were perfect to admire the vivid hues of the changing leaves.

The couple, as well as many relatives, put a lot of hard work into this wedding and it was evident to all of the guests. From the moment you arrived in the adjacent field, you were instantly impressed with the path that the bride and groom created. The ivory tin lanterns hung on shepherd's hooks were just the beginning of the thoughtfully lit path. They built a bridge themselves as a solution for guests to cross the small stream with small string lights on the sides for lighting. As you continued down the path, paper lanterns in the trees and twinkle lights wrapped around the trees provided additional light to guide you to the reception. At the end of the path and just before you entered the field where the tent was located, a heart with their names and date were painted on a rock.

The first thing you noticed upon entering was the dance floor. White paper lanterns of various sizes were hung above it and lit the inside of the tent with a beautiful glow. Leaves and branches that went as high as the lanterns hid the unsightly poles, creating a wonderful frame for the dance floor.

The bride's grandmother did all of the floral designs and they were gorgeous. Tall plants and lush chrysanthemums were carefully placed at the entrance of the tent making a truly grand entryway. The centerpieces were short, round vases of sunflowers filled with grapevines to hide the stems and surrounded with glowing votives. There were also taller vases of the same as well as vases of wheat grass placed on tables throughout the tent. The head table was lined with short, rectangular vases filled with pale amber marbles and alternating votives and once the bridesmaids placed their bouquets in the vases the head table instantly became an extraordinary sight bursting with color. The warm beige, striped linens and the thoughtfully placed wheat in the tied napkins completed the table ensembles.

Beyond the décor and the flowers, the food was equally fabulous. They had an enormous buffet of tortellini, penne, carrots, butternut squash, roasted chicken, beef, pork, chicken piccata, and well I don't remember the rest, but there was quite a bit more! I have to say my favorite food was the dessert...I love dessert. They had a small wedding cake that they served as well as assorted cookies and Italian pastries, apple pies and my favorite of the night was the spice cake topped with cheese sauce and berries. Faaaaabulous!

This wedding was so beautifully detailed and one that their guests will be talking about for quite some time. They did an amazing job and I am so delighted that I was able to witness all their hard work pay off. They are a truly great couple and it was clear to see the love they share, especially their little stolen moments when they didn't realize anyone was looking. The day went off without any mishaps and it was simply an enjoyable time for everyone.
